About Us

Alastair and Jack have known eachother for more than a decade, initially bonding over being way more into football than any of their friends. This continues to be true.

At midnight one November evening, sick of Jack's interest in cricket, and craving the return of football, Alastair messaged Jack (unprompted, from the next room).

"AFL podcast but we only talk about defenders" to which Jack replied "Great Idea. Call it the Back Pocket Podcast" before Alastair promptly changed the subject to Cowboy Bebop, which he had just begun watching, with no regard for his sleep schedule.

Built on the back of The Weekly Turnaround, a weekly blog that had never lasted a whole season, The Back Pocket was born.
